The proposed work begins with lived experience, not a prescribed answer to Kashmir’s future. Global Social Witnessing is open to people connected to Kashmir across communities. Global Mediation Team will facilitate, while trusted Kashmiri and diaspora voices help shape the language, pace, safeguards, and questions.

Listening circles will bring together people who wish to speak or listen, with participation shaped by community needs and available resources. Participation format and eligibility still need community guidance.

Reflect.

Global Social Witnessing asks people to remain present with difficult social realities, notice their own reactions, and receive others’ experiences without rushing to fix or persuade. The longer-term aim is to train 108 people to become facilitators who can help hold ongoing programs across communities.

The 108-person facilitator-training goal complements the listening circles, with delivery phased according to funding and capacity. Curriculum, selection, credentials, and schedule have not been set.

Relationships
before scale.

The initiative intends to rely strongly on medical diaspora networks across countries as trusted connectors, supporters, and potential peace ambassadors. Its guiding belief is that people working in health have a stake in peace. It also seeks Kashmiri community guidance, experienced facilitators, evaluation partners, and philanthropy. A training pathway with Kashmir University is an idea to explore.

No agreement with Kashmir University has been established. No medical institution, university, or funder is presented as a confirmed partner.
